ABOUT THE EVENT
Byron Bay to Ballina Charity Walk - Sunday 21 May 2017
The Byron Bay to Ballina Charity Walk starts at Denning Park in Byron Bay, loops around Cape Byron Lighthouse and follows the coastline through to Ballina.
Participants can choose to finish at Broken Head Reserve (12km), Lennox Head Surf Life Saving Club (24km) or Ballina Surf Life Saving Club (35km).
The walks are an all-terrain challenge across sand, bush track and roads and should not be underestimated by any walker.
The spectacular scenery creates an awe inspiring backdrop for the Charity Walk. Participants can walk or run at any pace however it is a non-competitive social event.
Walk as an individual or as part of a team, either way you will be fully supported all the way by Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Crew, Event Staff and Volunteers.
Participants can enter Individually or in teams of 2-20 people. Minimum age is 12 years old (accompanied by a paying adult)

Ballina (35km) $75pp
As the Charity Walks are a fundraiser a donation is added to your entry fee. All participant fees include a set $25 tax deductible donation to Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter. Additional fundraising is encouraged and we provide you with an opportunity to set up a Everyday Hero Event Page during registration so that you can support our helicopter heroes.
First start wave is at 7.00am and then further starts occur every 10minutes through to 8.00am, with those registered for for the longest distance (35km to Ballina) start first. Participants walking shortest distance to Broken Head (12km) will be in the last start waves at approx 8am.
Fuelling stations – water, fruit, lollies and food for purchase - are provided along the way. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottle to save on rubbish and to keep the event space clean by walking green.
